URGENT INFORMATION REQUIRED

19 May 2020 (by admin)

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you can imagine, the school is faced with a near impossible task of re-opening the school to more pupils from June 1st, whilst at the same time continue protecting our on site staff, key worker children and most vulnerable from the COVID-19 infection. With a wider re-opening from June 1st, the school leaders are faced with finding a way to eliminate all risks that your child and staff could be exposed to the virus whilst at school. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE using the current guidance and advice given by government and authority figures. YOUR HOME CONTINUES TO BE THE SAFEST PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD(REN).

Reception and Year 1 parents were called yesterday by the school, to gather essential information on possible pupil numbers that may return to school from June 1st at the earliest. If we were unable to contact you, your child's class teacher will email you via the class email. PLEASE RESPOND BY END OF TODAY PLEASE.

The government has requested primary schools to ensure that priority on re-opening is given to Reception and Year 1 before Year 6. This is why we have not directly contacted you, if you are a parent of Year 6.

Of course, as we have offered  since school closed in March, we are continuing to open for our key worker children, as well as our most vulnerable.

Today, we are asking all Year 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 parents who are key workers, to send information by end of today to your class teachers email account. Your class teacher will be sending you the following message for you to return answers on:

Q: What is your Key Worker post?

Q: Are you considering your child to return to school from June 1st? Yes, No or Maybe

It is essential that we have the above information by end of today, from our Key Worker parents in Year 2 to 6, even if you have previously given information to the school. WITHOUT YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER, SCHOOL LEADERS ARE UNABLE TO COMPLETE ESSENTIAL RISK ASSESSMENTS FOR SCHOOL RE-OPENING FROM JUNE 1ST TO MORE PUPIL GROUPS.

Many thanks for your patience and understanding - we are placing the safety and welfare of all pupils and staff at the forefront of all decisions made regarding re-opening.
