Suggested improvements for drop-off and pick-up times

Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of the School staffing team, I wanted to thank you this morning, for all your preparations in supporting your children to be ready for School. The children came in calm and excited and that, I’m sure, was mostly down to you.
I'd like to reflect on our first drop-off, whilst it is fresh in our minds, with the intention to improve in areas that we can as a collective:
- Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before the side gate opens. We want to minimise any chance of transmission and unnecessarily lining up is a concern. Our side gate opens at 8.40am in the morning and 3.00pm in the afternoon.
- A very small minority of parents, across households, are still walking/talking together, ignoring social distancing measures. We are still in a lockdown and outdoor rules still apply. The current outdoor rules state, you may only meet with one other from outside your household.
Of course, let's look at the positives to wrap up. Thank you to most parents who wore face coverings and kept their 2m+ distance from others. Children were by majority, walking with parents and not running ahead. I also noticed some of our parents exempt from wearing face coverings, had taken our recommendation to arrive for the last 10 minutes of the drop-off period, at a time when social distancing measures could be maintained and less parents were on site.
Have a great day.
Mr Dale Bateman
