Dear Parents/Carers,
From tomorrow, Wednesday 20th April, all children will enter the school via the side Hall door. No parents are to enter the building with their children.
The Hall door will open from 8.40am and children must be in the School building by 8.50am. This gives you 10 minutes to ensure your child is in school on time.
Your child is late if they enter School after 8.50am (this has been our school start time for many years now).
Children who arrive late between 8.50am and 9.00am, will enter via the same side Hall door. A member of staff will record their name and the time they arrive.
Children who arrive late after 9.00am, will enter via the front office entrance. A member of the office team will record their name and the time they arrive.
We will not ask children why they are late. However, if accompanied by an adult, we will record the reason for lateness if provided to us.
When Year 1 to 6 children arrive and enter school through the Hall door, they will make their own way to class. Reception class children will be greeted in the Hall by Miss Ives and line up, to go to class altogether.
ALL MESSAGES WILL NOW NEED TO BE GIVEN TO THE FRONT OFFICE. Please do not pass on any messages to our Hall door duty staff. They must stay focussed on safeguarding the entry of children into the school premise/keeping accurate records of late arrivals. All non-urgent messages will be sent by the office staff to the appropriate staff member, such as the class teacher. You must not request teachers to leave their class to speak to you, they have a class of pupils to prioritise. If the message is urgent, a school leader will be called upon.
Our afternoon pick-up system remains the same as last term. We have a soft closure, giving you 10 minutes to collect your child. Doors open at 3.05pm to 3.15pm. You are late for pick up if you do not have your child by 3.15pm. Please be on time as our teachers have many professional duties to complete from 3.15pm.
