Don't be late - school starts at 8.50am
19 June 2022 (by admin)
Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in late arrivals to school over the start of this half-term. Registers in class close at 8.50am. Any children who arrive at school after 8.50am are recorded as late arrivals, by our front entrance duty staff. This information is passed on to our attendance team and action will be taken by our attendance officer/attendance consultant if deemed appropriate to resolve the problem.
To improve this issue of lateness, from tomorrow, all of our entrance doors will be shut at 8.50am. Late arrivals after this point will need to go to the main foyer and wait to be registered as a late arrival before entering the school building.
Something to think about if your child is late: Poor punctuality is not acceptable. If a child misses the start of the day they can miss work and do not spend time with their class teacher getting vital information and news for the day. Late arriving pupils also disrupt lessons, can be embarrassing for the child and can also encourage absence. Good time-keeping is a vital life skill which will help our children as they progress through their school life and out into the wider world.
With kind regards,
School Attendance Team
