Dear Parents and Carers (Reception, Year 1 and 2 classes),
A reminder that today (Thursday 13th October at 2:30pm) is the phonics and early reading session for all Reception and Years One and Two parents to attend. This will be taking place in our school hall.
This session will aim to inform parents how we teach phonics and early reading in our school and things you can do at home to help your child with the reading and phonics skills. We will also be discussing how phonics lessons differ in Years One and Two compared to EYFS and have a selection of practical phonics games for you to try.
We expect the presentation to last approximately 30 minutes and really hope that you can attend this session. We hope that after hearing how we teach phonics at school; you can then feel more confident at supporting your child at home with their reading and writing skills.
Although the deadline has passed to confirm your attendance, please do come if you are able to. We ask that you contact the school, before arriving, on 01992 574890.
We will be placing presentation slides on our website once the event has taken place.
