Year 2 SATS meeting for parents

6 February 2023 (by admin)

Dear Parents/Carers,

Re. Year 2 SATS presentation to parents

We are holding a meeting for Year 2 parents on Tuesday 21st February 2023 at 9am in the school Hall, to discuss the arrangements for this year’s End of Key Stage One Tests. This presentation will enable us to share details about the format of the tests and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. We will run through some questions that have appeared on test papers in previous years to give you an idea of the type of questions the children are likely to be asked.

We will have examples of revision booklets for you to look at and to order if you wish (Pupil Premium funded pupils will have these revision booklets paid for by the School, using the grant funding we receive). The purpose of the booklets is so that children can independently study at home, working on sections with an adult if needed, to develop and practise their skills further. The school receives discount on these revision booklets, so it is advised to purchase them through us rather than online or at a bookshop. We will be taking orders at the end of the meeting, or you will be able to place orders at the front office by Friday 24th February. If you wish to place an order and pay on the day of the meeting, the school will accept cash or cheques.

It is also advisable not to bring very young children to the meeting, where possible, as they tend to get very fidgety and bored – we are talking about tests after all.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Miss Sapiano (Year 2 class teacher) or Miss Nicholson (Curriculum Lead) for SATS guidance. Alternatively, presentation slides will be placed on to our website for you to browse through after the event.

Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning.

Mr. D. Bateman
Headteacher
