Dear Families,

The Met Office have raised the extreme warm weather warning from amber to red for some parts of the country, including parts of Essex. We would like to confirm that the change from amber to red does not increase the risk of danger, it just means it is more certain that these parts of the UK will hit the high temperatures.

For this Wednesday (24th June) and Thursday (25th June) we are giving parents the option to collect your child from school early if you wish. Pick up can take place from 1.30pm onwards up to normal home time at 3.20pm. Two of our remaining staff led clubs for this week are being cancelled. These two clubs are Wednesday's Eco club with Mrs Huke and Thursday's Drawing club with Miss Davis. In addition, Shine Clubs will not be open for their after school sessions on both the Wednesday and Thursday of this week. 

Please also note that our kitchen will continue with cold lunches only for the remainder of this week. 

If you are collecting your child on Wednesday/Thursday between 1.30pm to 3.20pm, then please follow the instructions below so that you are not on the school site for longer than is needed to collect your child(ren):

1. Years 1 and 2 parents will come through the main office entrance and collect their child(ren) from the internal classroom door area. Please leave the school the way you came in and do not enter the actual classrooms please. 

2. All other Year Groups will walk around the pathway to the external classroom doors for your child's class. Again, once you have collected your child, please leave via the external footpath and do not stay on site longer than you need to.

All children who remain at school after 1.30pm, will have calming activities to do in their classrooms. 

We will assess Friday's arrangements closer to the time and we will let you know via School Jotter.
